Data sources

draconic21 does not run its own surveys or maintain private datasets for these products — every fact returned by the routes below is fetched live (or cached briefly) from a public, government-published source. This page names each one, its license/terms, how often we refresh it, and which routes depend on it.

Government data sources

SEC EDGAR — U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

Publisher: U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
Endpoints: www.sec.gov (company tickers, filing index) and data.sec.gov (submissions, XBRL company facts, full-text search)
License: U.S. federal government work — public domain in the United States (17 U.S.C. §105). No SEC endorsement of draconic21 is implied.
Fair-access terms: Requests identify themselves with a descriptive User-Agent per the SEC's developer fair-access policy and are throttled well under its stated request-rate ceiling.
Refresh cadence: Fetched live per request, with a short in-memory cache (minutes, not days) to avoid redundant load on the SEC's servers for repeat lookups of the same company.
Used by: edgar_filings, edgar_company_facts, edgar_bundle, edgar_fulltext_search, sec_late_filing_feed, fda_pdufa_calendar, and the free CIK / 8-K / Form D / company-facts tools

OFAC Sanctions List Service — U.S. Department of the Treasury

Publisher: Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Department of the Treasury
Endpoint: sanctionslistservice.ofac.treas.gov — SDN list, aliases, and comments (including published digital-currency addresses)
License: U.S. federal government work — public domain in the United States. See OFAC's own FAQ on using its sanctions list data.
Refresh cadence: Fetched live/near-live from OFAC's own change-tracking feed; not a static snapshot bundled with this codebase.
Used by: sanctions_screen, sanctions_delta, and the free OFAC sanctions-check / address-list / changes tools
Caveat: A screening result is a match/no-match signal against OFAC's own published list at the time of the call — it is not legal, compliance, or investment advice, and a possible match should be independently verified. See Terms.

Treasury Fiscal Data API — U.S. Department of the Treasury

Publisher: Bureau of the Fiscal Service, U.S. Department of the Treasury
Endpoint: api.fiscaldata.treasury.gov — debt outstanding, Treasury cash balance, and FX-rate datasets
License: U.S. federal government work — public domain in the United States.
Refresh cadence: Treasury publishes most of these datasets on a daily or business-day cadence; we fetch live from the API rather than mirroring a local copy.
Used by: treasury_fiscal_snapshot and the free U.S. national-debt tool

Our own data

The Daily Agent Signal family (signal_latest, signal_history, signal_delta, signal_continuity, signal_day, signal_topic_trace, archive_tip_day) and the Agent Demand Radar (bazaar_research_slice) are draconic21's own curated research and archive — not a resale of a third-party feed. They draw on the public sources above plus original judgment/ranking, and are attributed as draconic21's own work throughout.

Digital downloads sold on Gumroad (spreadsheets, guides, local CLI tools) are original templates and code written for this project; where a tool bundles a small offline sample of public government data (e.g. an SDN sample for offline testing), that sample is drawn from the same public-domain sources listed above.

Questions about a specific number

Every paid route's free /example or /availability endpoint shows the exact shape of what you'd be paying for, and /openapi.json documents every field. If a returned value looks stale or wrong, check the source directly at the endpoint named above before assuming an error on our side — we fetch live and do not alter the underlying facts.
